ESG Engagement & Data Specialist – HSBC Global Asset Management

We are currently seeking to recruit an analytical and self-driven ESG Engagement Specialist. The role holder will take a leading role in Engagement activities in Sustainable equity strategies, including HSBC’S upcoming Inclusive Growth strategy. The role will co-ordinate interaction between portfolio managers, Responsible Investments team and company management and their representatives on key engagement issues. The role will also lead Sustainability reporting where appropriate for Active Equity strategies this will include sourcing and presenting the appropriate data to support key messages and meet stakeholder requirements.
In this role you will:
- Lead on Sustainability reporting for a range of Active Equity strategies for internal and external audiences.
- Identify and execute Corporate Engagement activities that are integral to the management of our Sustainable equity strategies.
- Review engagement issues and opportunities with Investment and Responsible Investments teams.
- Engage on identified issues with management of investee companies in terms of objectives and assessing and reporting progress made toward meeting those objectives over time.
- Supporting the team in the day-to-day investment activities.
To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:
- Interested in ESG and comfortable to engage with clients/companies.
- Strong presentation skills with the ability to convince without hard selling.
- Excellent project management skills.
- Strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong report writing skills with attention to detail and an ability to perform independently and accountable.
- Strong problem-solving skills including the ability to prioritise and escalate key issues in a timely manner.
- Highly proficient with Microsoft Office products
This is a Hybrid working role with the base location as London. The successful candidate will have to have the ability to commute to this location.
