£32,000 – £39,000 plus great benefits, including up to 10% employer pension contributions and an annual incentive scheme (Work Level 6)

We’re now working in a hybrid way, with colleagues dividing their time between home/remote working and the office. We’re looking for an experienced ESG Analyst to join us at Co-op and join our Social Value & Sustainability Reporting Team within Analytics & Insight. The team is responsible for driving and reporting on our social value agenda and producing our annual Co-operate Sustainability Report. Reporting on the value we bring to society is hugely important and measuring it against our vision of co-operating for a fairer world helps to drive performance across the business.
But we’re not stopping there, we know that Co-op has a bigger role to play to increase community and broader sustainability impacts and increase co-operation in communities. It’ll be your job to support our social value & sustainability reporting manager in measuring the social value we bring to our members and society as a whole.
What you’ll do
- play a key role in the production of our award-winning Co-operate Sustainability Report – our annual review of our ethics, sustainability and community performance – and progress against the commitments we make in our Vision
- lead on environmental sustainability reporting –working with internal partners to collate data and develop narrative
- analyse complex data and prepare high quality copy, accurately presenting progress on sustainability issues
- play an active role in the audit process and link in with the design team and external providers to produce the report
- lead on development and the delivery of the reporting communications strategy (including website content development)
- lead on our approach to addressing external ESG benchmarks and reporting frameworks, keeping up to date with external best practices
- support the social value & sustainability reporting manager to deliver the social value framework and our approach to materiality
- build positive relationships with key partners and leaders across the business
This role would suit people who have
- knowledge of ESG reporting, frameworks and principles, such as GRI (global reporting initiative)
- experience working in sustainability reporting, with a passion for and knowledge of environmental sustainability
- great data handling and analysis skills, able to review and manipulate data and provide commentary for a variety of audiences
- excellent relationship building skills, with a talent for maintaining positive relationships with both internal and external partners
- proven experience in copywriting and producing high-quality external reports and communications
- a good understanding of driving effective communications across different channels
