About the role

Working under the leadership and direction of the Head Of Talent, this role will play an integral part enabling the business to deliver our Equity, Diversity & Inclusion ambitions through both contributing to and executing our E,D&I strategy. Being a key enabler of the E,D&I agenda, supporting in facilitating change as well as ensuring our colleagues experience of Matalan, matches the inclusive culture we aim to create.


? Support our Head of Talent with the creation, development and implementation of our E,D&I Strategy across all business areas

? Act as an ambassador for all things E,D&I, celebrating when we are making a difference as well as highlighting when you see areas which need to be improved

? Manage and coordinate our calendar of E,D&I events and activities, creating engaging content which supports understanding and awareness

? Create and maintain colleague led communities that they help shape our future agenda as well as enabling us to drive tangible actions and change to support E,D&I

? Create strong networks and partnerships with relevant external bodies who can support us in delivering our ambitions

? Play a key role in shifting mindsets around E,D&I across the business, helping to build understanding and buy in to what we are trying to achieve

? Network externally to ensure we have the latest information when it comes to trends within E,D&I in relation to language, attitudes and approaches, along with any legislative changes that may influence your world

? Play an active role in driving the credibility of all data in relation to E,D&I, tracking the impact of the initiatives you are responsible for so to enable you to evaluate the effectiveness of each approach ? Support in shaping our Talent Attraction approach and recruitment processes to ensure they are driving equity for potential candidates

? Manage relationships with key stakeholders to drive engagement and support the delivery of the E,D&I agenda


About You

  • Someone who is really passionate about the E,D&I agenda and is open to a range of views and perspectives.
  • Ability to engage and facilitate others across a range of different levels in relation to their area of expertise.
  • Experience of creating learning content and delivering interactive sessions which engage and build awareness.
  • Someone with good attention to detail who is able to manage key data in relation to initiatives Experience of successfully implementing E,D&I initiatives would be preferable as well as a knowledge of the legislative framework in relation to this.
