- Work as part of a team to support equity investment desks and increase investment personnel’s capacity to focus on investment research, portfolio construction and product management tasks which will ultimately lead to greater outcomes for our clients.
- Support investment desks with portfolio cash management, trade implementation and ensuring accounts are managed in line with mandate guidelines.
- Oversee new fund launches, existing fund transitions and new client onboarding tasks.
- Manage and maintain investment desk reports and spreadsheets.
- Build strong relationships with the wider business to help resolve portfolio related issues and improve/refine existing workflows to align with investment vector objectives.
- Support RFP, presentations, marketing and sales teams with portfolio related queries and date requests.
- Monitoring corporate actions events and provide investment desk support where required.
- Over time help contribute to equity and wider investment vector projects.
Skills and Experience:
- Strong desire and experience of working in a team.
- Naturally strong communicator who treats all abrdn personnel equally and with the upmost respect.
- Positive, proactive, self-starter happy to work both on their own and in a wider team environment.
- Ability to remain calm and manage workload during busy periods.
- Curious mindset with openness to asking questions to deepen understanding of tasks and processes.
- Previous experience and evidence of working in an environment that has required strong attention to detail, numerical and analytical skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VBA knowledge a plus) and working knowledge of Bloomberg, FactSet and Charles River.
- Openness to continued professional development i.e. IMC/CFA a plus.
- Previous experience working in an investment management environment desirable but not required.
