Job description

PLEASE NOTE THIS IS A RE-ADVERTISEMENT – PREVIOUS APPLICANTS NEED NOT REAPPLY
Agile is an exciting programme with an innovative approach to bridging the gap between science and policy, established in February 2022 with £10 million from the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC) to revolutionise the delivery of world-class research to support environmental policymaking. Building on the Oxford Martin School's mission to foster innovative collaborations to solve the world's most urgent challenges, it brings together interdisciplinary teams of outstanding researchers from across the University of Oxford to work with external partners, and industry and community stakeholders in rapid research ‘Sprints’ to address time-critical questions for policymakers.
We are committed to looking at equality, diversity and inclusion as distinct and entangled issues, presenting both challenges and opportunities. The post holder will play a leading role in shaping and delivering plans to strengthen inclusivity and accessibility in Agile, spanning research, capacity development, outreach and communications. They will take forward the initial EDI plan and ensure that research and influencing opportunities funded by Agile are equitable across the programme of work. In doing so, the EDI Officer will contribute to the achievement of Oxford University EDI goals, as well as to the NERC’s diversity and inclusion Living Action Plan.
The candidate must have experience of equality, diversity and/or inclusion, and must be able to draw on specialist knowledge of the challenges, opportunities and best practices in developing and implementing EDI strategies.
The Oxford Martin School supports the University’s commitment in fostering an inclusive culture which promotes equality and values diversity. We are eager to receive applications from a diverse pool of candidates.
Applications for this vacancy are to be made online and you will be required to upload a CV and supporting statement as part of your application. The supporting statement should clearly describe how you meet each of the selection criteria listed in the job description.
The closing date is 12 noon on Monday 11th September 2023.
