Role: Environment Manager (Technology)
Reporting to the Senior Service Change Manager, the Environment Manager will ensure planning and scheduling of end to end environments to meet the business needs; to manage capacity and dependencies to ensure risk and issues are identified; to ensure high quality, cost effective services are delivered
Key Accountabilities
- Responsible for non-production environment capacity planning and ulitisation across a number of critical applications, ensuring that risk and cost efficiency opportunities are effectively managed.
- Liaises with and coordinate between projects and programmes, Environments Manager and PMR to understand and manage non-production environment requirements, conflicts & dependencies and prepare & agree the plans to satisfy demand.
- Proactively communicating and negotiating with teams in order to resolve priority conflicts.
- Build and manage relationships with senior internal customers and suppliers to ensure appropriate support for delivery of strategy and services.
- Design, manage and run consistent, robust and cohesive environment management processes across Technology in line with strategies.
- Deliver enhanced capabilities across the Environments Management Service alongside
- Deliver process to ensure environments are build according to plan
- Ability to identify capability and stability improvements and articulate these to management
- Deliver integration with environment management procedures with Project Management processes
- Manage operational risk without impacting on the overall Technology portfolio.
- Ensuring all Environments are patched to the latest security patch level
Qualifications and experience required:
- Excellent understanding of Environments Management processes and procedures, change, project management and software development Lifecycle
- Good commercial awareness and experience of managing multiple suppliers
- Experience of Matrix Management within suppliers
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders with an appreciation of and focus on customer needs
- Ability to influence peers and stakeholders and negotiate with 3rd parties
- Thorough understanding of ITIL Processes, specifically Change Management, Release Management and Configuration Management
- Proven track record in service delivery / operations and project / programme delivery
- Strong analytical skills, results driven, proactive and manages risk
- Ability to understand complex issues and translate them to non technical terms, and lead them through to resolution
- Significant and demonstrable Project IT and Project Programme Management
- ITIL & Project Management Qualification desirable
