Responsibilities:

The mission of the Department of Defense (DoD) Strategic Environmental Research and Development Program (SERDP) and the Environmental Security Technology Certification Program (ESTCP) is to demonstrate innovative, cost-effective, and sustainable solutions to meet DoD's environmental and installation energy challenges. Among these challenges is the remediation and management of sites impacted by chemicals of concern such as per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), chlorinated solvents, and munitions constituents on current and former military installations.


Noblis provides technical and programmatic support in the broad area of environmental restoration to execute the mission of these DoD Programs. We seek to identify personnel with knowledge and experience in this area to join our team of talented professionals to successfully support the strategic goals of SERDP and ESTCP. This is an entry level position with potential for future advancement.


The entry level Environmental Remediation Specialist will work within the environmental restoration team supporting SERDP and ESTCP to:
  • Become a trusted advisor to the Environmental Restoration Program Manager and serve as the liaison between project teams and the SERDP and ESTCP Office.
  • Actively participate in technical progress meetings for research projects.
  • Contribute to and assist in the development of research and demonstration solicitation topics.
  • Facilitate the proposal review process, including coordination of proposal reviews and their associated meetings.
  • Monitor financial and technical progress of research and demonstration projects.
  • Plan, prepare for, and participate in a wide range of meetings, workshops, and conferences. This includes, but is not limited to, developing agendas, presentations, and other associated materials.
  • Develop technology transfer and outreach materials such as writing blogs and developing social media content and presentations.
  • Attend in-person scientific conferences and workshops to represent the client and provide Program updates and overviews as needed.
  • Collaborate directly with Principal Investigators across over 300 active projects to increase consistency in performance and financial reporting.
  • Participate in technical progress meetings for funded research projects.
  • Develop and execute other Program-related initiatives as needed.
Qualifications:

  • BS in Environmental Science, Geology, Engineering, or similar
  • 0-2 years of professional experience working in a field related to environmental remediation, environmental sciences, or geology
  • US citizenship is required
  • Preference for candidates located in the DC/Maryland/Virginia area
Desired skills and knowledge:
  • Interest in project management
  • MS in Environmental Science, Geology, Engineering, or similar

Salary at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, and clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position
is provided within the posting and are based on full time status. Part time staff receive a prorated salary based on regularly scheduled hours. The estimated minimum and maximum displayed represents the broadest range for this position (inclusive of high geographic and high clearance requirements), and is just one component of Noblis’ total compensation package for employees.
