Job description
Environmental Crime in the Community is something that we must all work together on to reduce. The role of an Environmental Enforcement Officer will see you undertaking a range of different activities within the local community to address this problem.
District Enforcement work in partnership with Local Authorities and we are embarking on a new contract with Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council. We are now looking for outstanding individuals to collaborate with our team of Enforcement officers.
Officers are given designated powers and will conduct foot patrol across the Borough. In the case of witnessing an offence such as littering or dog fouling, you will be required to issue a Fixed Penalty Notice to the offender, whilst offering advice and providing information which will hopefully result in long-term behavioural changes amongst individuals.
