Entertainment Editor - FREELANCE, REMOTE (Netflix & Streaming) Remote

Gfinity is hiring! We’re expanding at Gfinity and are looking for an Entertainment Editor to join the team at Epicstream.com to help us drive engagement and create amazing content on shows/movies released on Netflix & other streaming platforms.
This person needs an excellent grasp of the English language, the ability to work within a larger team, knowledge of SEO and able to produce editorial content to a high standard in a timely manner.
Ideally, you live and breathe the entertainment space and follow industry trends, new shows, news & have a strong grasp of ‘what’ entertainment fans for specific shows will be searching for on a day to day basis.
Applicants should have prior experience working in the digital publishing space, preferably having worked as an editor before.
Successful candidates will join a large team and get the chance to grow and learn from experienced and passionate staff in the entertainment space.
We are a 100% remote company so this role will be remote and has flexible working hours.
The role
- Working with the Managing Editor to feed into Content Strategy around Netflix and streaming platform shows months in advance
- Creation of original content for the website in line with content plans
- Working with the Managing Editor to manage the team of in-house writers to prioritise production and updating of content adhering to the content strategy
- Editing & updating content on the site & working with team to delegate work where necessary
- Utilising our workflow tools effectively on a daily basis, including ClickUp
- Performing other tasks across the brand's digital and social platforms as required
- Other tasks as decided by line manager
Essential Skills & Requirements
- Experience writing about movies, tv shows and streaming platforms is a must
- A passion/deep understanding of certain topics is a big bonus (e.g. Star Wars fanatic)
- Knowledge of SEO best practice, specifically around optimising article headlines & article copy
- Able to work independently for a set number of hours and where necessary self publish
- Good organisational and time management skills
- A people person. Candidate must be able to keep comms up, give/take directions well and form relationships with the wider team
Salary: Dependant on experience & skill level
Schedule: Flexible hours around 35 per week.
