We're looking for a highly skilled Principal Solution Architect to join our Enterprise Architecture and Strategy Team.
The Principal Solution Architect will be accountable for the successful delivery of all solution architectures both small and complex, as well as helping drive toward the enterprise technology strategy and the roadmap. They will manage the team of solution architects as well as delivering solution architectures themselves. They will work closely with the Enterprise Architects to ensure business outcomes are achieved by the solution architect team, as well as feeding back into the overall Enterprise Architecture to ensure progress towards the target state.
Day to day
Some of your key responsibilities as our Principal Solution Architect will be:
Leadership and Line Management
- Developing close senior business relationships and develop confidence in the delivered solution architectures
- Day to day management of the team to manage on time delivery of solution architectures
- Line management and pastoral care of the team, including performance management and career development
Change Execution
- Providing Complex Solution Designs in line with domain and enterprise architectures
- Technical Capability Assessment - Reviewing existing technical capabilities, promoting reuse, or identifying new capabilities
- Technical Requirements Engineering - Ensuring all non-functionals are considered
- Procurement Support - Contributing to the selection of fit for purpose solutions
Technical Strategy
- Contributing to Technical Architectures to ensure feedback from implemented architectures
- Contributing to the development of Technical Strategies and Reference Architectures
- Managing Total Risk and Cost across the IT Estate
About you
Are you an effective communicator, with experience in leading a solution architecture team?
In addition to the above, we are looking for our successful candidate to demonstrate the following:
- Previous experience working in architecture roles (e.g. Solution, Domain or Enterprise).
- Knowledge of modern architectures, utilizing cloud capabilities and loosely coupled architectures.
- Knowledge of implementing SaaS and Cloud native solutions
- Travel or Airline knowledge useful but not essential
- Experience of managing small teams
