Our multi-disciplined teams include: DevOps engineers, IT architects, front and back end developers, infrastructure specialists, cyber experts, as well as project and programme managers.
Global Operations and Automation partners with Global Operations, WPB, MSS, and Wholesale in enabling bank wide operations powered by our intelligent automation ecosystem and operations platforms that automate the bank at scale and accelerate the optimisation of our front-to-back customer journeys. The team are truly global: developing and delivering change across all key markets supported by HSBC with a host of leading technologies
Role Description/Responsibilities:
The Enterprise Architect is responsible for a portfolio of technology architecture projects and to support and contribute to the strategic architecture work within the GO&A Architecture team.
This role will carry out some or all of the following activities:
- Contribute to the overall the enterprise architecture strategy for GO&A working with the regional Architects and Chief Architect
- Promote new practices, processes, operating model, techniques, products, services, technologies and
standards where needed against identified use cases, via the appropriate governance bodies.
- Support the regional business, IT and transformation teams to define the technology change portfolio that enables delivery of the global business / global function strategy.
- Assess solutions as a member of the GO&A design authority
- Support reviews of services provided against HSBC business area strategy and benchmark internally/externally as appropriate for the region
- Stay abreast of technology trends and advise Technology and the business about potential benefits/impacts.
- Provide a consultancy role to Technology and business teams in the region
- Provide full life cycle architectural guidance to development teams and ensure quality technical deliverables..
- Ensure the solution designs created by solution architects are compliant with the platform architecture and roadmap and have been reviewed by the appropriate design authority.
- Ensure design of products and services meet mandatory and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Manage /provide guidance to solution architects within GO&A
To be successful in this role you should have proven experience within the Technology sector with the following skills:
Business
- Experience of working in financial services sector applying technology to business problems
- Able to translate business needs into appropriate IT solutions.
Technical
- Architecture breadth of knowledge & experience spanning Data, Business, Enterprise, Application & Technology Architecture
- Proven ability in translating business requirements into design and execution in a complex technology environment
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills – desire to solve complex problems at scale.
- Experience of Cloud, micro-services, API and modern data architectures
- Legacy platform integration
- Experience of applying digitization, automation and work management techniques and platforms to deliver STP processes (e.g. business process management, robotics, low code platforms, decision engines)
Ideally experience of working with the technologies outlined below:
- Business Process Automation technologies E.g. Workflow / Process Orchestration , Document Recognition, Cognitive Automation, Process Intelligence, Robotics
- Low Code / No Code platforms
- EA tools e.g. BizzDesign
- Collaboration tools (Confluence, JIRA)

The role will be based in Sheffield but some travel may be required. This role supports Hybrid working (2 days in the office per week)
