We are seeking a passionate and experienced ESL Teacher to join our team and help our students develop their English language skills.

Position Overview: As an ESL Teacher at Dragon Language Academy, you will play a crucial role in facilitating language acquisition and proficiency for students whose first language is not English. You will create a supportive and engaging classroom environment that promotes effective language learning and cultural understanding.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and Deliver Engaging Lessons: Develop and implement effective ESL lesson plans that cater to the individual needs and language proficiency levels of students.
  • Language Instruction: Teach English language skills, including reading, writing, speaking, and listening comprehension, using various instructional methods and resources.
  • Assessment and Progress Tracking: Regularly assess students' language proficiency and progress, providing constructive feedback and adapting instruction accordingly.
  • Create a Supportive Environment: Foster a safe and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages open communication and cultural appreciation.
  • Cultural Sensitivity: Promote cross-cultural understanding and sensitivity among students, helping them navigate cultural differences.
  • Resource Development: Create or adapt teaching materials, resources, and assessments to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Professional Development: Stay updated on ESL teaching methodologies and best practices through ongoing professional development opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • CELTA, TESOL, or teaching certification
  • 1 year ESL teaching experience, preferably in a diverse classroom setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Cultural sensitivity and an appreciation for diverse backgrounds
  • Patience and adaptability
