Job description
Star English is a start-up business incorporated in the UK dedicated to reading children's books for worldwide students. It is our determination to inculcate the good reading habits for millions of students in developing countries by providing online lessons with a ration up to1:3. Currently most of the students are studying at international schools in China, Japan, Singapore, Thailand and Malaysia.
We follow the 4-stage lessons to help each student to achieve a high level of English Literature:
1. English for Beginners – Power up & Phonics, Increase student’s interest in learning English, Increase English intake through listening exercises, English videos and songs, Supported reading of simple stories and poems
2. Oxford Reading Trees – Expand vocabulary, daily 30-minute reading and listening, precise understanding of the texts, regular writing practices
3. Reading, Comprehension and Writing – English story books and literature texts, a diversity of genres, daily 30-minute reading, expand and broaden vocabulary through reading comprehension, give comments about the text, write with a good level of independence and accuracy
4. English Literature – English literature texts, study texts from an analytical perspective, appreciation of writer’s craft, extract analysis and close reading, thematic study and character analysis, develop critical thinking skill, write literary essays
We are now looking for freelance teachers for ‘English for Beginners’ and ‘Oxford Reading Trees’. If you have experiences of teaching phonics, Power up, Oxford Reading Trees series using differentiating teaching method with a bachelor qualification in English teaching or Literature, preferably with a QTS, please join us.
