Engineering Technician - Terminal
- Based at Stansted Airport
- Permanent position – Shift based role
- Day / Night Shift. Technicians work a Flexi-roster of over 10 weeks consisting of 2 days/2 nights
- Rotating day shifts work 4 days on, 4 days off – 12-hour shifts.
- 2 weeks flexi working within a 10-week cycle
- CTC clearance will be required

About the role:
We are currently recruiting for an Engineering Technician – Terminal to join our busy Asset Maintenance team at Stansted Airport.
Principle accountabilities include:
- Undertake planned or reactive maintenance work ensuring optimum serviceability which meets agreed service levels and provides a trouble-free operational environment, applying the skills and knowledge required for the task. This includes inspecting assets which are not working as needed, assessing & reporting what work is required and undertaking that work.
- Carry out tasks which require in depth technical competence in Electrical/Electronic and/or Systems engineering and assist in minor work in other disciplines which you have the skills to do.
- Use prevailing MAG IT and work management systems (for example MAXIMO) as required. This includes receiving & closing work orders, booking out parts and entering accurate data.
- Ensure that all engineering and operating records are updated to meet business, regulatory & manufacturer requirements.
- Provide complex fault finding of critical assets to ensure the safe and quick return to service.
- Operate and promote working practices which ensure a safe working environment for self and others, contributing to the development of a safety culture and adhering to mandatory regulations & safety procedures.
- Engage proactively in any work associated with delivering performance improvements within the engineering environment.
- Communicate effectively with customers and maintenance team colleagues on the progress of completing work.
- Work with others, including colleagues and/or apprentices on a one-to-one basis to help them complete their apprenticeship scheme and/or gain more learning in a given subject/system.
- Proactively upgrade skills to facilitate the maintenance and operation of new assets being delivered into service to ensure that they are maintained in a manner which keeps them performing at an appropriate level.
About you:
We are looking for someone who has/is:
- City and Guilds/NVQ
- ONC/HNC Electrical Engineering
- Relevant experience
- Full and assessed knowledge of any relevant National or MAG regulations or standards
- Completion of relevant & related skills training to become a Safety Critical Worker
- Delivering High Performance - scheduling prioritising, organising and managing self and/or teams to ensure results are successfully delivered.
- Drive & Decisiveness - enthusiastic and motivated, focusing on achieving results and a standard of excellence. Having a clear sense of direction, persistent in pursuing goals, maintaining focus despite obstacles and setbacks
- Detailed working familiarity with all aspects of maximo, or other systems, which support work scheduling, resource scheduling, resource competencies etc.
- An outline knowledge of other aspects of maximo, or other systems, and its interfaces with related systems such as oracle and RMS
- Able to demonstrate that through formal training/apprenticeship or practical experience you are able to carry out the tasks required
- Capable of undertaking effectively Electrical/Mechanical maintenance tasks such as those scheduled

Rosters
You will be allocated a 10 week rolling roster pattern, containing 8 weeks of known shifts and 2 weeks of flexible hours, known as ‘Flexi Weeks’. You will be given a roster start position (line number); for instance, you could start on Line 4 or 6. You will be required to work all lines of this roster pattern, moving down the roster week by week. Upon completion of Line 10 you move back up to Line 1 and upon full completion of all lines, you return to your starting position and work through the pattern over and over again.
Within your 10 week roster pattern there are 2 flexible working weeks. You will be set shifts to work, initially giving you two weeks’ notice of these shifts. These shifts will start no earlier than your earliest start time and finish no later than the latest end time. A review of these shifts will be carried out one week prior to each of these weeks starting.
