GSK’s Ware Site is one of the key manufacturing centers for GSK, manufacturing medicines and supplying globally. We are looking for Engineering Technicians to join our team providing engineering expertise within production and in building-services.
Engineering Technicians work in a team (managed by an engineer on shift) to support the highly skilled, diverse teams across production, quality, and technical functions within the site. Engineering Technicians conduct a wide range of engineering maintenance, calibrations, physical interventions and repair activities.
Part-time / Job-Share: We have an opportunity for a part-time/job-share arrangement within the Oral & Solid Dose (OSD) team. We are proposing 2 or 3 days per week (during Monday to Friday) - We are open to discussing alternative arrangements.
As an Engineering Technician your tasks include;
- Fault finding, problem solving and breakdown resolution
- Maintenance activities on tablet production and utilities equipment
- Continuous improvement of production and utilities equipment and processes
- Completion of statutory inspections eg ATEX, zero access, LOTO
- Liaising with cross functional teams Quality Validation Site operations
- Calibration of critical process equipment
Shift Pattern: The team operates on a Double-Days shift pattern; 06:00 to 14:00 (earlies) & 14:00 to 22:00 (lates). This shift alternates 1-week on earlies and 1-week on lates.
About You:
Relevant engineering qualifications and / or experience is required (eg; EngTech Status, Engineering Apprenticeship in Mechanical, Electrical, Automation, Instrumentation or related electromechanical subjects). A good standard of numeracy and literacy is essential.
You will be a willing learner and a good communicator. Ideally you would have worked in a regulated industry, but this is not essential. Good verbal, written and computer communication skill are needed and you will be able to work within a team and follow standard processes.
We are particularly interested in applicants with experience in the following areas:
- Calibration
- Automation (the site standard is Siemens / Rockwell)
- Electrical
- Mechanical
- Pneumatics
- Instrumentation
- Process control
About Ware Site:
Medicines at Ware are presented as either Respiratory devices or in Oral Solid Dose form. The site holds a unique position in our network as the only site responsible for launching the company’s pipeline, many of which are life-saving medicines.

Basic Qualifications:
Relevant qualifications and experience (eg; Engineering Apprenticeship, HNC / HND Level qualifications, Eng Tech status).
A good standard of numeracy and literacy.
