London Stansted Airport, part of the Manchester Airports Group (MAG), is offering an exciting opportunity for a Engineering Technician Apprentice to join our Airport Operations and Engineering team. As an apprentice, you will receive training from experienced professionals in maintaining and repairing advanced automated systems and equipment, while building a fulfilling career in the aviation industry.
Contract Information:
- 48-month fixed-term contract
- 40 hours (Full time)
- Permanent offer subject to meeting academic and professional standards
- Planned salary increases throughout the apprenticeship
About the Apprenticeship:
The Engineering Technician Apprenticeship is offered in partnership with Harlow College. The apprenticeship program provides a work-based learning experience designed to develop knowledge and technical skills in the maintenance and repair of advanced automated systems and equipment, professional skills, and behaviours in engineering functions or wider business areas. The apprenticeship combines practical and classroom-based learning to equip you with the skills and knowledge required for a Engineering Technician with a particular focus on mechatronic maintenance and electrical bias (optional module).
About the Role:
As an Engineering Technician Apprentice, you will work alongside experienced technicians and will be responsible for tasks such as:
- Inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing faults in automated systems and equipment
- Maintaining and servicing advanced automated systems and equipment to manufacturer's specifications
- Performing regular inspections and safety checks on automated systems and equipment
- Keeping up to date with the latest developments in automated system and equipment technology
- Following safety procedures and regulations when working on systems and equipment and in the workshop
- Communicating with colleagues and customers to ensure effective and efficient service

Minimum Requirements:
- Actively working towards attaining a Full UK Driving License
- No prior advanced automated systems and equipment maintenance and repair experience required
- 8 GCSEs grades A*-C (including Maths, English and one Science)
- Must live in England and have the right to work in the UK (Government funding requirement)
