About the Role:
To ensure overall performance of the production lines/area whilst adhering to all Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental requirements. This is achieved through application of engineering competency in reviewing overall equipment performance, developing appropriate maintenance improvement strategies, and implementing these through the site team and supporting engineering companies.
All this should be achieved within the existing cost constraints of the business to ensure the best value for money in equipment reliability.The role also includes the day-to-day management of the Energy Centre Technical Personnel
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in implementing and maintaining a planned maintenance system across the site with appropriate budgetary control.
- Assist in the implementation of the maintenance schedules to ensure that all plant is fully maintained in optimum condition to ensure that company downtime reduction, plant reliability and OEE improvements are delivered.
- Assist in implementation of all existing and new Health & Safety legislation, ensuring adequate staff training on these matters.
- Drive energy, asset care and maintenance cost reduction across the site. Actively participate in utility consumption reduction initiatives.
- Maintain effective relationships with manufacturing plant suppliers and OEM’s.
- Assist in planning, organising, and carrying out shutdown work (as part of asset care windows and APM’s), including liaising with and organising external suppliers and service providers.
- Manage the service contracts within the Energy Centre.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:
- Certified Electrical Engineer / Certified Mechanical Engineer / Certified Multiskilled Engineer
- Ideally, multi-disciplined with a time-served apprenticeship in a manufacturing engineering environment
- NVQ Level 3 education or above, or proven equivalent experience
- Knowledge and demonstration of the relevant Quality, Health, Safety & Environmental aspects
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Analytical coupled with practical skills
- IT literacy (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is essential
- SAP knowledge desirable
- FMCG industry experience desirable
