Job description
- Being responsible for managing technical and site infrastructure matters from planning approval to construction and final estate adoption/closure
- Providing the best value solutions, coordinating and delivering all engineering all utility design details and information in line with planning approval, building regulations, budget and build programme requirements
- Make sure that all technical information, drawings, services/suppliers enquiry letters, quotations and acceptances, technical approvals and agreements are issued and received as per statutory and planning approval requirements, and in line with the agreed drawings, specifications, build and sales programmes, budget requirements, and health and safety plans
- Work with internal/external legal teams to check and finalize all legal agreements, including section agreements, deed of easements, and utility provisions
- Hire external consultants for site investigations, structural and civil services, topographical and environmental investigations, dilapidation surveys, flooding reports, transportation assessments, etc. Coordinate with consultants and ensure timely delivery of all information and reports within budget
- Establish communication channels with contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders, and participate in meetings to review progress and provide feedback on project performance
- Provide technical support and guidance to other departments and maintain computer-based databases for reporting systems
- Comply with health and safety policies, environmental and corporate responsibility policies, and lead, supervise, coach and motivate the Technical team to achieve high performance standards
- Carry out duties as the Principal Designer under CDM 2015 and any other duties as reasonably requested by the department
Requirements:
- Strong design and planning expertise & technical knowledge
- Knowledge of the varying planning requirements, policies and preferences of Local Authorities
- Familiarity with specific design and specification features for road and sewer agreements, and ability to maximize value for the Company.
- Knowledge of utility companies, procedures, license and legislating framework.
- Sound working knowledge of all CAD and other software packages, cost accounting and data management systems used by the company
- Understanding of CDM Regulations, LABC/NHBC requirements and Codes of Practice (e.g, Code for Sustainable Homes)
