Currently we're hiring a Fire Specialist to join the Engineering Team. As the Fire Specialist and subject matter expert you will be responsible for ensuring all VIRTUS Fire & Life Safety systems are operating correctly within their design and are optimised to ensure highest levels of reliability. You will ensure all best practice's and standards are delivered, and work with the Engineering Team to ensure any issues are quickly resolved to minimise operational impact.

Some Key Responsibilities of our Fire Specialist

  • Manage, support & develop direct reports.
  • Be the Fire & Life Safety technical authority
  • Manage the inspection, configuration, test schedules, performance indicators
  • Provide SOP/EOP development including sign off any Fire & Life Safety & Electrical Mechanical SOP/EOP drafts.
  • Assist commissioning of existing upgrades, supporting Fire & Life Safety & Electrical Mechanical elements.
  • Take ownership of any key Fire & Life Safety issues and push progression.
  • Support data centre capacity management.
  • Provide 2nd 3rd level escalation for Fire & Life Safety/controls & Electrical Mechanical issues.
  • Continually optimise Fire & Life Safety systems to provide high levels of reliability.
  • Lead, develop and assign tasks to M&E Engineers reporting into this role.
  • Be one of the Senior Leads for technical approvals via change control, corroboratively with other Engineering leads.

Person Specification:

  • Fire Management Systems / Fire Suppression Systems
  • Change management experience – critical environment
  • Electrical or Mechanical Engineering qualification (ONC / HND)
  • Commissioning experience
  • Building Management Experience highly desirable
  • Experience in Data Centre's highly desirable
  • High levels of attention to detail
  • Process orientated
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Collaborative approach
  • Leadership & management experience

Salary: £70,000.00-£90,000.00 per year
