Develops, coordinates, and implements the digital transformation services for the Aerospace Center. This position will be responsible for digital architecture, software installation, and daily management of cloud platforms used by the department.

Develops and implements the digital transformation services for the Aerospace Center to include digital assessment, digital infrastructure plan and support and software deployment and training.

Responsible for the daily management of the digital transformation services for the Aerospace Center to improve the efficiency and competitiveness of our Center.

Responsible for keeping up to date on all trends in digital transformation and for updating programs and supports to reflect trends.

Responsible for managing the Amazon Web Services cloud and/or Microsoft Azure Cloud.

Identifies, recommends, and implements opportunities for improvement and performance issue solutions.

Diagnoses and troubleshoots the most complex issues for cloud computing systems on multiple platforms. Maintains comprehensive technical knowledge of software and infrastructure platforms

Troubleshoots and resolves the most complex issues elevated from users. Provides guidance and consultation as required. Updates, writes, and maintains documentation for the department.

Experience in cloud computing and associated concepts, to include Amazon Web Services (AWS) and/or Microsoft Azure Cloud.

Able to implement AWS solutions in support of students, staff, and faculty; actions include, but are not limited to, Private Cloud management, AWS Managed Active Directory, Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), AppStream 2.0, Simple Storage Solution (S3), AWS Glacier, and AWS Windows File System (FSx); similarly with MS Azure Cloud

Working knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory (AD), MS Server 2019+, MySQL, and Ubuntu Linux.

Network skills are a must; includes fundamentals of routing, switching, and subnetting.

Must be able to install Siemens Digital Engineering Software within the AWS Cloud and or MS Azure Cloud, and provide that software to engineering users through streaming service.

General knowledge of HTML and CSS preferred.

Understands department’s role in accomplishing the University’s mission.

Knowledge of all Microsoft Office software and able to learn and use institutional software systems.

Complies with all State and University policies.

Other duties may be assigned.

Travel may be required.

No supervisory responsibilities.

Minimum Education required: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or related field.

Minimum Experience required: Four years of experience, related to the statement of duties and responsibilities; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Azure, AWS, and/or GCP certifications preferred.
