Technical Operations/Maintenance
Technical Operations includes the maintenance, and overhaul of our aircraft. This includes aircraft maintenance technicians, engineers, planners, ground equipment and facilities teams, supply chain teams and more.
Job overview and responsibilities
Executes the technical duties of a principal engineer through ownership of specific aircraft, powerplant, cabin/interior, systems, maintenance program or service engineering roles, where the technical duties encompass direct operational support of aircraft/engines/components in the line maintenance or overhaul environment for multiple disciplines. At this level, those duties include expertise commensurate with technical experts elsewhere in the commercial aviation field (e.g. Technical Fellows, Master Engineers, etc.). In addition to the technical responsibilities, this role also performs technical reviews of documentation generated by other engineering staff members in their respective field of discipline. The individual will perform direct supervisory functions for an assigned group of engineers and interface at a division level on projects owned by his/her team. This interfacing also includes, but is not limited to, OEM, FAA, and industry committees.
- Manage normal engineering duties as a subject matter expert, in line with the responsibilities of a principal engineer
- Complete technical reviews of engineering documents generated by other team members
- Interfacing at a department level on priorities and projects related to regulatory compliance, reliability, etc.
- Administrative duties tied to direct supervision of staff
- Industry level engagement on technical issues within their field of knowledge, including time spent directly with the OEM’s and the FAA
Qualifications
- B.S Degree in Engineering, related technical field or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 2-4 years at a principal engineer level or similar role elsewhere in the industry
- Working knowledge on both Boeing and Airbus aircraft and engines
- Engineering skill sets which can be applied to a range of aircraft systems, maintenance programs and engines
- For service engineering positions, these same technical skills are applied towards operational issues versus project specific work
- Ability to analyze complex technical issues, detailed level of project management for regulatory compliance modifications
- Excellent verbal and technical writing skills needed
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
- Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
- Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
Strong skills in MS office applications (Excel, word, PowerPoint, etc.)
