Marine Engineer (Onshore / Office-based) - VR/27674
Currently recruiting for an experienced onshore Marine Engineer on a permanent staff basis for an E&P company based in central Aberdeen. It is a full-time office-based role, and the successful candidate will be working a 37.5-hour week. This role will involve occasional offshore visits - therefore, applicants must be prepared to work offshore.
The Marine Engineer will ensure the maintenance / operation of marine systems and will also support or lead marine projects, as required.
Reporting to the Marine Team Lead, the Marine Engineer will have the following main duties and responsibilities:
- Responsible for all floating assets on bilge and ballast, watertight closures, shipside valves and connections, offloading, cargo transfer and inert gas systems.
- Ensuring that high level strategies are implemented offshore.
- Reviewing and ensuring adequacy of planned maintenance and assurance routines.
- Following up on corrective routines.
- Assisting offshore with vendor support where required.
- Carrying out offshore visits as required.
- Ensuring that the installation integrity, reliability, availability and maintainability of the relevant marine equipment is optimised, so that the safety of the asset is maintained, and the production targets can be achieved.
- Supporting the Marine Team Lead to ensure conformity and compliance with UK legislation, class and international standards.
- Managing engineering and analysis work outsourced to subcontractors relating to the aforementioned systems.
- Audits on correct application of procedures offshore.
- Developing engineering and inspection scope of work for the assigned systems.
- Reviewing inspection and repair procedures developed by the Projects Team for the assigned systems.
- Supporting ad-hoc marine maintenance scopes, interfacing as necessary between offshore crew and office-based maintenance teams.
- Providing discipline support to Asset Integrity, Assets and Projects Teams.
- Liaising and assising the Company Naval Architect, Marine Integrity Engineers and Marine Project Engineer as required.
Experience / Qualifications:
- A relevant engineering degree qualification is essential.
- Chartered Engineer status would be preferred.
- Current / valid offshore certification would be preferred.
- Previous experience in a similar onshore / office-based Marine Engineer type role, within the North Sea oil and gas industry, is essential.
- Previous experience in a similar role, directly with an E&P company / operator, would be preferred.
- Applicants should have previous offshore / seagoing experience and will be expected to have held an Engineering Officer / Technician type role.
- FPSO, FSU or Tanker experience would be preferred.
- Previous experience with SAP would be preferred.
