Position: Lead Engineer- Automation and Control.

A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Lead Engineer (f/m/d) at Digital Grid you will have the full responsibility for successful execution of control system design, planning and engineering deliverables of Grid Software/DMS/HMI/ SCADA for HV&MV control systems. You will develop technical solutions, Review customer specifications and engineering standards, check and ensure compliance. You will work closely and coordinate with external suppliers in the field of secondary control systems and help us develop new solutions for key customers in UK and beyond, worldwide working without core Engineering Team at Germany.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Control system specification handling for Grid Control/Substation Automation projects
• Technical consulting to the others inc. partners, internal stake holders and customers
• Prepares technical and commercial customer offers for his/her technical field
• Supervision and quality assurance of sub-supplier and partner teams during project execution
• Takes responsibility for quality, time, and costs of own results
• Conduct customer training and support commissioning activities.

Actively participate in research and development activities together with other specialists to develop the state-of-the-art Control and protection solutions of the future grid.

What You Bring

• Completed degree in Electrical/Electronics/Computer engineering, automation or similar which Chartered Engineer as preference.
• Several years of professional experience in engineering of Large Control Centers/DMS/HMI/ SCADA systems for control systems and energy transmission & distribution preferable in UK or Ireland.
• Deep knowledge in HMI software applications and Substation Automation software like WinCC, Zenon, ZEE600, SICAM PAS, SICAM A8000 or similar. Knowledge of different Vendors Solutions is an Advantage
• Deep Knowledge and understanding of Systems and Solutions for Network Management and Operation and Control of electricity with a Control Center.
• Proven Experience working with Projects in the Power and utilities sector including Systems such as ADMS/OMS/EMA/DERMS/MMS and date Management and Analytics.
• Knowledge in Signal management & configuration of Remote-Control Interfaces
• Knowledge of Process data handling and integration of subsystems in automation systems and of SCADA Communication Gateway configuration and connection to Remote Control Centers
• Good knowledge in communication protocols used in automation systems like IEC101, IEC104, IEC61850
• Good knowledge about OT security standards (IEC 62443, ISO 27019), technologies and best practices for substation automation engineering
• Very good understanding of Energy business and the way it operates and very good communications skills in English (mandatory) and German (preferable)
