Role
Working as a part of a large engineering survey team predominantly producing surveys via Total stations, laser scanners and drones for design, construction, and as-built purposes. Will be required to work collaboratively within the team and with the full range of site disciplines on the project. Will be expected to assist with the manual monitoring on the project as and when required. Will be based at West Ruislip but will be expected to provide survey services across the whole of area west.

Main ResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities
Good work ethic. Time keeping and attitude.
Good attitude to safety and holder of a CSCS card.
Able to carry out instrument calibrations and produce QA records.
Competent in land surveying techniques and able to carry out unsupervised field work.
Aware of the latest setting out techniques and have an understanding of the latest Leica equipment.
Able to produce good quality QA records for all surveying work.
Able to display good communications with other site disciplines including designers.
Able be able to carry out recorded monitoring exercises.
Have an understanding and some experience in other site disciplines.
Basic user of surveying software. Micro Station, LSS, Starnet, Cyclone for survey related work.
Cognisant in the use of the latest drone related hardware and software.
Competent in the use of the commercial related software’s used on the project. (Training to be supplied)
Able to process and present topographical surveys from a variety of data collecting methods.
Able to carry out pre-pour surveys to comply with ITP systems (Quality control)
Able to carry out and present as-built surveys.
Able to communicate the setting out to other on-site disciplines.
Fully able understand drawings and other electronic design information.
Be able to interrogate and QA design information as a last line of defense and be able to work directly with the design teams to resolve issues.
Competent user of a range of survey equipment and software.
Able to author deliver task briefs, RAMS, drone related documentation and tool-box talks.
Able to establish and maintain horizontal and vertical survey control networks.
Have an awareness of the latest advancements in surveying technology including GPS laser scanners and photogrammetry and associated software.
Display good understanding of the commercial side surveying and its interface with the project strategy.
Have a good understanding of rail works, surveying, methods and software.
Keen to develop his/her skills as a civil engineering surveyor.
Able to manage people and survey sub-contractors.
Required Qualifications and Skills
Member of a construction related professional body.
Full driving licence.
At least three years working on rail related civils project.
Desirable Qualifications and Skills
MWEP ticket and PTS preferred.
At least three years working on rail related civils projects.

The Skanska | Costain | STRABAG (SCS JV) is delivering the HS2 London Tunnels Contract. Scope of works includes twin-bored tunnels (TBM), SCL tunnels, shaft sinking, bridge demolition and reconstruction, services diversions, earthworks and the construction of site compounds.
