Job Description:
At Regions, the Incident Response Engineer focuses on the identification, response, and analysis of security incidents. This position is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing technologies to proactively prevent and detect incidents.
Primary Responsibilities
Responds, resolves, and reports security incidents by undergoing the complete incident response lifecycle
Completes evaluation and investigation of security incidents
Monitors, manages, and maintains Cloud and IR tools and systems and serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for them
Leads efforts to identify and implement solutions that proactively improve incident response capabilities
Conducts root cause analysis of security incidents
Develops code within the cloud environment that detect incidents with automated responses
Partners with IT, Security, and other divisions to ensure preparedness for incidents
Participates in an on-call rotation
Offers advice and guidance to junior engineers, assisting in the development of technical skills and knowledge
This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.
Requirements
High School Diploma or GED
Ten (10) years of experience in Information Security, Incident Response, Systems Security, Application Security, Network Security, Cloud Engineering, or related field
Certifications/Licensures
GCIH, GCFE, GCIA, CISSP, CySA+, AWS or Azure certifications
Preferences
One (1) year of experience in Cloud Engineering
Experience working as part of a Computer Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT)
Experience performing Digital Forensics and Incident Response work (DFIR)
Knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK Framework, incident responses, and timelines for responses
Knowledge of incident investigation and resolution methodologies
Knowledge of Cloud Platforms including AWS, Azure, GCP, or Snowflake
Familiarity with SIEM and other DFIR related tools and technology such as Splunk, Cribl, Snowflake, Wiz, AWS GuardDuty, Azure Sentinel, Terraform, Security Onion, FTK, WRT, or ADIA
Skills and Competencies
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Strong analytical and evaluative thinking capabilities
Strong organizational, research, analytical and/or problem-solving skills to evaluate situations, make recommendations, and take effective action
Adept problem-solving skills to offer sound solutions to complex issues

Compensation Details
Pay ranges are job specific and are provided as a point-of-market reference for compensation decisions. Other factors which directly impact pay for individual associates include: experience, skills, knowledge, contribution, job location and, most importantly, performance in the job role. As these factors vary by individuals, pay will also vary among individual associates within the same job.
The target information listed below is based on the national range and level of the position.
Job Range Target:
Minimum: $118,549.50 USD
Median: $162,130.00 USD
Incentive Pay Plans: Opportunity to participate in the Long Term Incentive Plan.
