Pacific Northern designs and manufactures POP and fixture programs for retail as well as luxury products, with the end goal of fully implementing the brand’s identity.
We handle every aspect of the design process in house, from conception to final delivery.

The emphasis of this position is the ability to product design and development with the utmost efficiency independently or in collaboration with brands and retailers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Design and improvement of new, custom or existing Store Fixtures for a variety of market applications including merchandise display, merchandise presentation, the point of purchase, etc.
- Ability to blend and balance creative industrial design elements with the functional mechanical design.
- Capable of assuming responsibility for individual Project Management.
- Evaluate design ideas based on factors such as design-function relationships, serviceability, materials and methods engineering, application, budget, price, production costs, methods of production, market characteristics, and client specifications.
- Prepare sketches of ideas, detailed drawings, illustrations, artwork, or blueprints, using drafting instruments, paints, and brushes, or computer-aided design equipment.
- Direct and coordinate the fabrication of models or samples and the drafting of working drawings and specification sheets from sketches.
- Modify and refine designs, using working models, to conform to customer specifications, production limitations, or changes in design trends.
- Coordinate the look and function of product lines.
- Confer with engineering, marketing, production, or sales departments, or with customers, to establish and evaluate design concepts for manufactured products.
- Present designs and reports to customers or design committees for approval, and discuss the need for modification.
- Evaluate the feasibility of design ideas, based on factors such as appearance, safety, function, serviceability, budget, production costs/methods, and market characteristics.
- Research production specifications, costs, production materials and manufacturing methods, and provide cost estimates and itemized production requirements.
- Design graphic material for use as ornamentation, illustration, or advertising on manufactured materials and packaging or containers.
- Develop manufacturing procedures and monitor the manufacture of their designs in a factory to improve operations and product quality.
- Fabricate models or samples in paper, wood, glass, fabric, plastic, metal, or other materials, using hand or power tools.
- Investigate product characteristics such as the product's safety and handling qualities, its market appeal, how efficiently it can be produced, and ways of distributing, using and maintaining it.
- Maintain product lifecycle management using software including design, review and released for manufacturing and revisions as a product is produced
Qualifications:
- Prefer bachelor degree with mechanical engineering experience.
- Experience with parametric CAD modeling software (e.g., Inventor, SolidWorks, etc.)
- Solid understanding of design and manufacturing processes.
- Experience work with Injection molding, Vacuum forming of thermal plastics and die cast metals.
- Lean manufacturing experience would be a plus.
- Excellent communication skills to work with the team and clients.
- Documentation management (keeping all technical documents properly organized.
- Bachelor's degree required
