Not only is the department responsible for managing over 18,000 kilometers of provincial highways, it also manages the planning, design and construction of hospitals, schools and other government buildings.
What you will do
Reporting to the Assistant Director of Capital Planning, the Data Collection Manager will be responsible for:
- providing technical analysis and interpretation of highway data;
- providing the department with traffic estimates and providing expertise to edit traffic data;
- various Highway Data Collection Programs, such as traffic monitoring, strength testing and road assessment (video, road roughness, and crack detection)
- the Financial Management of the Unit by providing input and recommendations for the branch budget including budget development and ongoing monitoring;
- managing staff performance and work output on an ongoing basis to ensure target dates are met and acceptable levels of quality and accuracy are achieved.

Essential Qualifications:
- Possession of a bachelor's degree in engineering and a minimum of 8 years of related experience including a minimum of two (2) years supervisory or project management experience.
- Registration as a Professional Engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientist of New Brunswick or be eligible for membership.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license as issued by the Province of New Brunswick.
An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
Written and spoken competence in English is required. Please state your language capability.

Asset Qualifications:
Preference may be given to candidates that demonstrate the following assets:
- experience in analyzing technical issues, reporting conclusions and making recommendations. Proficient use of Excel and experience using ArcGIS.
Subject to the response to this competition, candidates may be required to demonstrate on their application one or more of the asset qualifications in addition to the essential qualifications in order to be given further consideration.

SALARY: $2,568.83 to $3,516.04 bi-weekly, based on 36.25 hours per week.
