Purpose of Job: To maintain and develop all plant and equipment to a high standard of performance and safety.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all equipment, machinery and peripherals operate efficiently and at full capability, ensuring a continuous production process.
- Carry out repairs on machines as part of breakdown or preventative maintenance.
- Ensure that all relevant paperwork and maintenance logs are completed correctly and accurately in accordance with company procedure.
- Ensure that all duties are carried out in accordance with quality, hygiene and food safety policies.
- To perform any other duties in connection with the job that may from time to time be reasonably required by supervision and which are consistent with the “Purpose of job/mission”.
Entry requirements
To join us as an apprentice you will need to have or expect to achieve GCSEs at Grade C (or above) or Grade 4 (or above) in both English and Maths
An interest in engineering
Ideally able to demonstrate a strong work ethic, e.g., through part time employment and/or voluntary activities
Experience of engineering activities are advantageous but not necessary. This may include: Hobbies or voluntary work, Previous work experience, Engineering related school subjects
Level 2 IT qualification (desirable)
Training to be provided
Primary training through Milton Keynes College Group to complete Engineering Technician Level 3 – Mechatronics Maintenance Technician Apprenticeship:
Year 1: 3 days per week to complete Foundation Competence Qualification
Year 2: 1 day per week 1st Year of Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering
Year 3: 1 day per week 2nd Year of Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering
Throughout the duration of the apprenticeship you will be taught, and put into practice, engineering skills which will be key for a junior engineering role within ALPLA. Your apprenticeship will last for a minimum of 3 years.
