Job description

Company Description
Ensō Superfoods is an exciting early-stage startup with the mission to make it easier for everyone to live a healthy life.

We believe that 'health' goes beyond the absence of disease. It's our physical, mental, and social well-being - and food is foundational to that. It's what fuels our body and mind.

We produce and sell natural supplement powders from real organic superfoods, made in nature not in labs. Our best seller product is currently our greens powder Supergreens – aimed to help 90% of Americans who don't eat the recommended daily dosage of vegetables bridge their nutrition gaps.
Ensō Superfoods is a fast-paced and ambitious new company full of opportunities. We've been growing fast and this is just the beginning. A strong foundation for growth has been built and early team members joining now will have the unique opportunity to build on top of this foundation, grow with us, and help us become a $1B company.

Position Description
Ensō Superfoods is seeking a Paid Media Engineer, Lead to lead and oversee all of our paid customer acquisition efforts. As the Team Lead, you will be responsible for the strategic direction, operations, and reporting of all paid media accounts, working closely with the CEO and other team members to drive customer acquisition and revenue growth.

We are looking for an analytical and results-driven marketing expert with a strong track record of success in driving growth through paid media channels. In addition to being a hands-on marketer, you will be a proven leader who thinks strategically about paid media in an AI world and will guide the team to be successful in this new environment. You will have a passion for entrepreneurship and a hunger for engineering growth, and be committed to continuous learning and improvement.

Your ability to analyze data, develop and execute strategies, and drive insights will be crucial to success in this role. You will work closely with the CEO and other stakeholders to ensure that all paid media campaigns are aligned with the overall business objectives, and you will be responsible for delivering measurable results against KPIs. You will also collaborate with the SEO, partnerships, and lifecycle team leads to develop integrated marketing campaigns that drive growth across all channels.

The ideal candidate will have experience in managing and developing high-performance marketing teams and a deep understanding of the latest trends and best practices in paid media. If you are a strategic thinker with a passion for growth and a track record of success, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity to help build a dynamic and fast-paced team.

As the company's first growth hire, you will report directly to and partner closely with the CEO to assemble a team of talented individuals who share our values and possess the skills needed to achieve our ambitious growth targets. Your ability to identify, recruit, and mentor top talent will be instrumental in cultivating a culture of excellence and continuous learning.

What You’ll Do

  • You will take full ownership of managing multiple PPC campaigns, fully owning strategy, operations, and reporting.
  • You will create, optimize, and scale campaigns across various paid media channels, mainly Google and Facebook. This will involve optimizing across auto-bidding algorithms, keyword match types, and audience targeting to improve campaign performance.
  • You have a strong analytical mindset and love working with data and analytics to inform your decision-making. You believe that data-driven insights are key to making the best decisions, and prioritize them over intuition.
  • You will explore paid media applications for AI and implement these to uplevel campaign set-up and management, creative testing, and the team’s operational efficiency.
  • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills and can effectively communicate with CEOs and stakeholders. You tailor your communications to the appropriate audience, ensuring that your messages are clear, concise, and impactful.
  • You will be responsible for structuring, running, and reporting on A/B tests to scale campaigns and optimize spend efficiency. Your ability to effectively structure tests and analyze the results will be key in making data-driven recommendations and quickly iterating for next steps to continuously improve performance.
  • You will propose and test strategies to improve the customer conversion funnel, optimize user experience, and increase conversion rates in order to increase profit.
  • You will monitor daily performance of our brand and provide weekly reports to the CEOs on how you are tracking against the brand’s growth goals. You will use this information to identify and recommend actionable opportunities for improvement.
  • You will stay up-to-date on industry and competitor trends, and use this information to evaluate the performance of our brand against the market.
  • You should be comfortable making recommendations in ambiguous environments, with incomplete or unclear information. You should be open to evolving your thinking and recommendations as you collect more data.
  • You will confidently educate the company on paid media and effectively communicate the reasoning behind your strategy recommendations and findings.

Who You Are

  • You have a strong grasp of numbers and a love for data and analytics, with a background in engineering. Working with numbers and data sets comes naturally to you, and you're able to perform dimensional analysis and basic algebra and statistics to gain insights from the data. Additionally, you should be comfortable working with big data sets to analyze performance and make data-driven recommendations, rather than relying on intuition.
  • You're able to design and implement campaigns that effectively target the right audience with the right messaging, resulting in increased user engagement and conversion rates. Your experience includes a deep understanding of the mechanics of PPC campaigns, including bid management, audience testing, creative asset building, and auto-bidding strategies.
  • You are a highly consultative individual that is capable of working closely with the CEO to drive exponential growth. You approach each opportunity with an always-on mentality, challenging assumptions and committing to delivering measurable results.
  • You're highly entrepreneurial and thrive in a fast-paced environment full of ambiguity.
  • You don't get stuck easily. You're not blocked easily and you're never the bottleneck. You enjoy getting things across the finish line and driving impact.

What You’ll Bring

  • 5+ years of strategic and operational experience scaling Google and Meta Ads inventory, with a focus on scaling early-stage startups.
  • A degree in Engineering.
  • A deep understanding of the importance of using profitability metrics as a key performance indicator (KPI). You understand that the ultimate goal of any PPC campaign is to generate revenue for the business, and profitability metrics are critical to allow you to track the effectiveness of your advertising spend.
  • Exposure to growth marketing areas beyond paid media, such as product marketing, SEO, and retention marketing. This will help you have a more holistic view of growth, enabling you to identify cross-channel opportunities and develop a comprehensive growth strategy.
  • Plus: experience in DTC/e-commerce startups is a plus.
  • Extra bonus: experience in managing and developing high-performance marketing teams, with a track record of building and coaching successful teams to achieve their goals. This includes setting clear expectations, providing regular feedback, and identifying opportunities for growth and development to create a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Time Commitment
This role is full-time and will need to overlap with US ET for the majority of the workday. It is an exciting opportunity that demands a level of dedication beyond the standard 9 to 5. We need someone who's willing to go above and beyond to help us achieve our ambitious goals, and who's eager to put in the effort to make a real impact.

Location
We are fully remote – you can work wherever you’re most productive. We're a highly collaborative startup and it's crucial that you're based on a timezone that is close enough to EST so we can count on you in reasonable hours for you. We are unable to provide Visa or work permit sponsorship at this time.
