  • Technically strong, ideally 6 or more years developing services with Kotlin and/or Java
  • Experience with Spring Boot, AWS, Kafka, Docker and Kubernetes
  • Led multiple products from concept into production, and can demonstrate in discussion
  • Possess a strong knowledge of engineering principles,methods and techniques
  • Strong product mindset, including the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
  • Nice to have an understanding of modern Javascript, ideally React

The Role

We are hiring a Lead Software Engineer, to join our Supply Chain department. We work on customer problems using data-driven decision. We take an agile approach to innovation and iteratively test and improve our tech products across the Supply Chain function. We are part of the driving force of innovation in production and delivery across the company.

Thrive with the responsibility of leading a squad of engineers, supporting with design, development and maintenance of interconnected systems and products.

Some key responsibilities:

  • Operate independently without technical oversight, and be able to lead design of software across a subset of functional areas
  • Consistently deliver high quality cross-functional software
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure project are completed on time
  • Be active in learning and sharing new techniques and aware of innovations in neighbouring disciplines, e.g. product, QA, UX
  • Mentor and developer your squad, enhancing their technical and professional skills
  • Consider the impact of new information on existing decisions and plan accordingly
  • Be able to describe complex technical areas and practices to both technical and non-technical audiences in ways they can understand
  • Understand how the business operates, what the strategy is and how that relates to your work in conversations with key stakeholders
  • Know your customer and build awareness and understanding of their needs in your Team
  • Own the responsibility for security and compliance and plan how upcoming work will impact
