HiT Nano are looking for a talented and self-motivated engineer to join our team.
About HiT Nano
HiT Nano’s vision is to deliver industry-leading, cost-effective and high-performance energy storage materials, for applications in rechargeable Li and Na-ion batteries and thermochemical energy storage. Our next-generation patented manufacturing technologies deliver materials with advanced properties, while minimizing the adverse environmental impacts characteristic of traditional production methods.
Founded on research undertaken at Princeton University, HiT Nano is a venture-backed start-up currently supported through US Department of Energy Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and NJ Economic Development Authority grants. We collaborate with industrial partners, national laboratories, and leading universities.
The HiT Nano laboratories are based near Trenton, NJ, with collaborative research undertaken at nearby Princeton, Rutgers, and Rowan Universities. This is a dynamic and culturally diverse region located near New York City, Philadelphia, and the beautiful Delaware river.
Role description and responsibilities
We are seeking a creative, high-energy engineer to join our multi-disciplinary team. Ideally, you would have previous experience in thermal and fluid science/reactor design; thermal storage systems; Li-ion batteries/electrochemistry; aerosol science/particle technology; and high temperature ceramics. You will be responsible for leading early-stage engineering, manufacturing build system construction, material development, battery development and grant writing efforts.
Requirements
· PhD degree in mechanical, chemical or electrical engineering, chemistry or material science -OR- B.S. with some practical experience in reactor system design and engineering
· Practical experience in laboratory environment.
· Experience in design tools and data analysis
· Experience in mechanical systems, instrumentation, analysis, failure detection, etc.
· Knowledge in thermal storage systems, batteries, electrochemistry, or material characterization
· Willingness to fill knowledge gaps through on the job training
· Operate in team environment
· Strong written and verbal communication
· On-site position near Trenton, NJ (Bordentown)
· Able to work proactively in a research lab and follow proper safety guidelines
