We are currently recruiting a dedicated and focused IT Configuration Engineer to join our team.
Summary of Role
We are currently seeking an experienced IT Configuration Engineer, based in our head office in Wigan.
The Configuration Engineer will be responsible for configuring, testing, and troubleshooting end user compute devices (laptops, mobiles etc) before deployment to the end user.
Responsible for the store room and regular stock takes of customer assets.
Key Skills Required
- Strong knowledge of IT software and hardware experience within a service desk environment
- Proven ability and experience configuring windows devices using SCCM and Intune.
- Strong knowledge of Request fulfilment processes.
- Strong ability to carry out assigned tasks independently with little supervision
- Excellent at performing multiple tasks at the same time without erring
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong problem-solving sand trouble shooting abilities
- Ability to work on own as needed
Responsibilities
- Configure, test, and troubleshoot laptops, desktops, thin clients & mobile devices.
- Maintain stock levels, performing weekly & monthly stock checks
- Managing device secure disposal with 3rd party suppliers
- Monitor system performance and ensure that the system is up to date with build images.
- Liaise with customers, vendors and suppliers to resolve any issues with hardware \ build images.
- Adhere to all relevant security policies and procedures.
- Define and enhance processes when it comes to asset management.
- Apply a continuous improvement to asset management.
- Ensure effective management of the CMDB and that the content contained is accurate
- Perform daily and long-term operational and strategic management of hardware and software
- Provide KPI/Metric information on stock deployment.
- Take part in various projects, providing support with regards to assets.
- Manage inventory of CIs and assets.
- Responsible for managing lifecycle of hardware and software models in the CMDB, taking direction from the asset manager.
- Escalates any re-occurring incidents to the Service Operations Manager.
- Meet Service Level Agreements (SLA).
- eLearning Training Scheduled training with salary increases for exam passed. For example train and pass MS-100 and receive £500 salary increase
Working Patterns
We work Monday to Friday (excluding bank holidays). Supported hours for are customers are are from 7am - 6pm meaning a shift pattern is required. Below are the shifts you would be on a rota for;
- 7am - 4pm
- 8am - 5pm
- 9am - 6pm
