Salary: £49,016 - £57,666 depending on qualifications and experience

As an Asset Investment Senior Engineer you're responsible for the creation, embedding and assurance of Cadent’s rolling 5-year Investment Plan in order to achieve Cadent’s objectives and meet our regulatory commitments. In this role, you will seek to optimise the balance of cost, risk and performance of the gas distribution network assets in line with our customer and stakeholder expectations. You'll lead and support projects to improve Cadent’s Asset Management Maturity, building partnerships and strong relationships with Investment Planning Offices providing guidance to support SAMP interpretation and NAMP development.
Another important aspect of the role is maximising opportunities to apply process improvement and best practice methodologies (where appropriate) to improve process efficiency. You'll understand the difference between diversity and inclusion and what is meant by creating an inclusive environment.
Role Accountabilities:
Using the Institute of Asset Management (IAM) model for Asset Management, the role holder will:
- Be responsible for the development and implementation of a rolling 5-year Investment Plan which recognises the existing strategic business objectives, regulatory commitments and aligns to Cadent’s overall Asset Management Policy (G/30) and Asset Management Strategies
- Support the business planning process for investment and work with all stakeholders (delivery partners to the board) to deliver an optimum outcome
- Be responsible for the development of relevant Decision Support Frameworks to support delivery of asset strategies and ensure consistent decision making for investment within the networks
- Support in providing assurance of delivery on the Investment Plan driving Cadent level portfolio and supporting optimisation through working collaboratively with local Investment Planning Offices, Capital Delivery and other delivery partners
- Liaise with relevant local Investment Planning Offices to understand delivery against plan and agreed strategies, understanding and highlighting risks and opportunities to plan
- Ensure by effective stakeholder engagement that the Strategic Asset Management Plan is Asset Management deliverable and the business plan is aligned to both financial requirements and resource constraints
- Contribute to the development of Cadent’s Asset Management Policy (G/30) and overall Strategic Asset Management Plan (SAMP)
- Ensure resolution of any relevant internal/external audit actions and support the ongoing accreditation of ISO55001
Qualifications & Skills required
- Degree in a relevant subject or equivalent business experience
- Incorporated Engineer or equivalent recognised certification in Asset Management
- Understanding of the UK Energy Systems and Markets & knowledge of the RIIO regulatory framework
- Great communicator and effective collaborator with strong influencing skills
- Experience of asset management and investment planning for a large asset base
- Understanding of Process Safety & Strategy Development
- Experience of working with complex engineering assets
- Ability to analyse and interpret complex technical and data issues to form insights and recommendations
