Job Title: Principal Engineer - Outfit
Location: Scotstoun, Glasgow - Predominantly working from home with periodic travelling to Scotstoun
Salary: Up to £48,540 (dependant on skills and experience)
What you’ll be doing:
- Technically manage and lead an element of the engineering resource for Outfitting, including the delivery of engineering work and services as part of a large IPT comprising of a multidiscipline team that interfaces with multiple customers and suppliers
- Responsible, within Team bounds, for the development of engineering design and production output data in respect of Outfitting for the programme, including the overall technical interface responsibility for Stage 1 engineering Teams, ensuring delivery within cost, schedule and quality targets
- Responsible for running multiple internal and customer facing meetings, contributing to design reviews and schedule reviews, ensuring that technical content and advice is of the highest quality
- Manage and support the inputs to the CAP and the engineering delivery schedule in order to drive resource planning and meet the requirements of the programme design
- Provide Line Management, within Team bounds, including annual reporting and career management
Your skills and experiences:
- Experience in an Outfit Ship Design environment ie, Naval, Commercial, Cruise, Offshore
- Experience of engineering design
- Experience of people management and management of small teams
- Experience of project planning
Engineers at all levels should possess an academic qualification in Engineering or other related STEM subjects as well as specific (either academic or professional) qualifications and become recognised as Incorporated or Chartered Engineers through an appropriate recognised professional institution. Engineers are encouraged, and will be supported, to achieve the relevant accreditation. Preference will be given to candidates who are already professionally registered.

Our Outfit Engineering Team:
As a Principal Engineer – Outfit, you will manage a small team of Outfit engineers and deliver key Outfit engineering design outputs. You will provide specialist mechanical/marine engineering expertise to organise and co-ordinate significant aspects of Outfit engineering activity within the business whilst continually maintaining quality and cost.
