JOB SUMMARY

We’re looking for a highly motivated, well-organised and enthusiastic Project Manager to join us to help deliver an exciting programme, Project Groundwater, in partnership with Buckinghamshire
Council and a range of other organisations. Project Groundwater is an innovative Defra-funded partnership programme which seeks to improve understanding, raise awareness, and increase resilience to groundwater flooding across 9 communities at risk of groundwater flooding within the
Chiltern Hills and Berkshire Downs – and here at Groundwork we’re delighted to have been appointed as the community engagement delivery lead.

As Project Manager you will play a key role in taking forward the delivery of this project, planning and delivering effective community engagement to improve community resilience to groundwater flooding, as well as developing relationships with a range of organisations across the partnership.
You will be responsible for overseeing the team of Community Engagement Officers, and ensuring that the work we deliver meets our agreed objectives to a high standard and in a timely manner, as well as being aligned with wider Project Groundwater activities and outputs. You will line manage staff and interface with a range of multi-disciplinary teams across Groundwork South and East, and will have key project management responsibilities including managing budgets, monitoring progress and reporting to funders/partners.

As the lead Groundwork representative on this project, you will be comfortable in managing your own projects, whilst working collaboratively with partners and wider stakeholders from different sectors. Whilst you will report to the Area Programme Manager, who will have oversight of the project, you will need to be able to work independently without direct supervision. You will have the confidence and skills to engage with people from a range of backgrounds and ideally have proven experience in delivering and / or managing community development projects.
