About The Role
A fantastic opportunity for a part time Engagement Coordinator to join our supported housing service in Manchester. Helping to support some of the most vulnerable people as they progress from being homeless, to being supported to being independent.
At Saha we are dedicated to providing comprehensive, good quality housing services, support and resettlement for people who are or who have recently experienced homelessness.
You will get to know the young people in the service and gain an understanding of their likes, dislikes and aspirations. You will use this information to enhance the life of the community at The Limes. This will involve developing both internal community activity and outreach work, creatively engaging with both residents and partner organisations.
What you will be doing:
- Working in partnership with the Support Workers to address clients’ feelings of isolation and social exclusion whilst breaking down barriers by e.g. ensuring a holistic support package is provided to clients - encouraging client involvement in the community - supporting delivery of Passport to Independence and AQA Modules
- Ensuring information is readily available on a daily basis for all current and new clients to be kept abreast of activities available both in-house and within the community
- Assisting with fundraising and budgeting for entertainment, materials and outings
- Engaging with community events, meetings and forums and, where appropriate, encourage client involvement
- Utilising Social Media platforms to promote activities and communicate with clients in the service
- Co-ordinating a programme of in-house meaningful activities based on client need and aspirations. e.g. Sports Activities, Cookery, Outings etc
The Limes is a 26 unit supported accommodation service for young males aged 16-25 years old, clients who live at our service come from a variety of backgrounds/circumstances including relationship breakdowns, leaving care, rough sleeping or refugees. At the Limes we seek to provide a warm, respectful and supportive environment for clients. We want every young person who walks through the door to feel that The Limes is their home from Day 1. Staff aim to support and encourage the young men throughout their stay/journey with us as they move towards independent living.
About You
An Activities Coordinator will instinctively share Saha’s delivery values and behaviours, loving your work, helping people to thrive and always finding a way to be effective.
We’re looking for people who can:
- Confidently and capably communicate with the ability to inspire, engage and challenge others
- Build trusting, professional relationships and have a high level of resilience.
- Confidently use Social Media Platforms to engage with clients
- Have a good knowledge or experience of working with homeless people, and / or supporting vulnerable people or groups,
- Understand or learn about community resources and organisations that can help our clients
- Plan forward, prepare and deliver life skills sessions
