This is an exciting time to work at Bolton Community CAMHS.

Bolton Community CAMHS is looking for a motivated individual to undertake the role ofEngagement and Participation support worker.

The role will involve:

  • Supporting children, young people and their families are actively involved in the development and delivery of services which affect them.
  • To support young people to directly identify the issues which affect them and to support them to appropriately self-advocate to have their voices heard.
  • To support young people to be able to engage in service development and staff interviews.
  • To be approachable to enable young people to discuss their worries and to be able to consult with young people regarding support groups and campaigns, for example Pride.
  • To work with partner organisations to develop and maintain a range of ways in which young people can engage.
The post holder will work as part of the multi-disciplinary team within Bolton CAMHS. The post holder will be expected to be proactively engaging our young people and their families in order to promote positive relationships.

The post holder will be required to work 37.5 hours a week which is 9-5 Monday to Friday, however some occasional evening/weekend working may be requested depending on requirements of the role.

Working within the team alongside our talented therapists, caring case managers and super support workers the ask would be to get involved in our group programmes but also look at other groups with both our young people but also their families.

  • To plan, organise and deliver events involving young people and partners which encourage participation.
  • To prepare and support young people to participate in the recruitment of staff.
  • To support the process of matching young people to opportunities to support service developments.
  • To facilitate contact with young people and their families via individual and group forums (for example Youth Voice)
  • To maintain appropriate records.
  • To escalate any concerns in a timely and appropriate manner.
  • To actively promote the opportunities for young people to support engagement via newletters or social media.
  • To develop and maintain a directory of young people and youth forums who can be contacted to encourage participation.
  • Positively promote the GMMH Service User and Carer Engagement Strategy for young people.
  • Maintain good working relationships with iThrive Partners and seek to expand opportunities.
  • Use systems to maintain accurate records relating to young people and their activity, in accordance with departmental requirements, Trust policy and local procedures
  • Support those involved to provide feedback to the Trust on a regular basis.
  • Contribute to appropriate newsletters as requested.
  • Produce activity reports as requested and in relation to the function of the role
  • Explore and utilise as directed, emerging technology and social media to support role objectives.
  • Promote recovery by actively seeking to promote and expand opportunities for young people to engage with the service.
