Morgan King are delighted to be exclusively partnered with a large manufacturing business in the Sheffield area as they look to appoint an Energy Manager to form part of their Environmental team. Turning over £40M and supporting over 150 heads on site, this is a great opportunity for an Environmental expert with an Energy bias to join a genuine market leader.
Reporting to the Managing Director, this role has responsibility for all energy assessments, deliver new data based propositions and provide robust savings validation, delivering new ways to save energy and identifying new innovation to deliver savings in energy and carbon.
Duties & Responsibilities include:
- Lead and develop new ways to save energy and develop performance enhancing improvements
- Feasibility study of existing processes, buildings and services to identify poor energy efficiency and where improvements can be made
- Review and improve current energy recording on site to provide weekly energy consumption information in a cost effective manner
- Model existing energy use against projected improvements and show prospective energy and cost savings
- Provide regular tracking and saving validation to the business, to measure performance against the energy budget/ projects plan
- Lead in developing strategies for manufacturing departments, including long-term carbon strategy, long term energy savings and in-year energy efficiency programmes to deliver on business objectives
- Designing new plant and equipment arrangements, to provide best energy solutions, including new technologies
- Drive innovation and new technologies into current operations and develop more efficient use of existing systems
- Supervise and manage energy efficiency saving projects beyond the design phase to safe delivery and post project measure, verification and review
- Researching and developing ways to generate new energy, reduce emissions from fossil fuels and minimize environmental damage
- Ensure compliance with carbon and energy legislation and voluntary schemes
Morgan King are keen to speak to candidates with the following skillset:
- A degree or equivalent experience in an engineering, management or energy related discipline
- Capable of preparing fully costed energy efficiency proposals and reports
- Ability to carry out full energy surveys and feasibility studies of energy technologies
- Conducting investigative energy assessments to identify energy and cost savings measures
- Utility billing and interval data analysis, and energy benchmarking
- Conducting spreadsheet analysis to estimate energy and cost savings of proposed energy efficiency measures
- A full understanding of the energy market with respect to energy efficiency, carbon emissions and changing legislation/regulation
- Initiative and the ability to recognize emerging problems and proactively develop solutions
- Ability to work independently
