Energy Officer
Energy officer required to provide a comprehensive utility management service to the Council, and in particular to minimise the Council’s energy, carbon and water consumption and costs in the Council’s Corporate, education estate and commercial asset portfolios.

The Council is seeking a competent energy professional to join our award winning Climate Emergency team as an Energy Officer. As an Energy Officer you will play a key role in improving the energy performance of the Council’s operational property estate. Working with the Climate Emergency Team and colleagues across the Council you will help drive forward strategic objectives for the management, reduction of energy, water and carbon and the optimisation of sustainable on-site generation. Expected within the role is to provide a comprehensive utility management service to the Council, and in particular to minimise the Council’s energy, carbon and water consumption and costs in the Council’s Corporate, education estate and commercial asset portfolios.
This role will suit a person with a broad skill set including strong analytical skills, attention to detail, problem solving, self motivation and drive to see that the Council and its estates are treated fairly by suppliers. This is a varied role which will see the chosen candidate out on site with some lone working as well as behind the desk. Ability to work with a board range of stakeholders and attend sites is essential to this role.
It is highly preferable for the candidate to have experience working in an energy related role.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
