An exciting opportunity currently exists for a Commissioning Engineer to join our Derby based Commissioning team.
The Nuclear Facilities Commissioning Function is responsible for the delivery of all commissioning activities across all new-build nuclear manufacturing facilities and upgrades to current production facilities.

You will be required to be flexible and apply practical skills and technical knowledge in a wide range of on-site work packages, working with a wide range of people and skills including commissioning, operations, maintenance, engineering, and wider project stakeholders. What you will be doing:
You will review, critique and approve commissioning documentation.
- Physical delivery of on-site commissioning of mechanical, electrical, control systems and automated processes which will be used in the manufacture of Submarine nuclear reactor components.
- Authoring and execution of test documentation, including the accurate recording of test results and non-conformances.
- Identify and resolve non-conformances and defects on a range of plant equipment & systems.
Who we’re looking for:

- Previous experience of mechanical and/or electrical commissioning and fault finding within the nuclear industry, or experience of Commissioning and test of facility plant and process within a regulated industry – Chemical Production, Pharmaceuticals, Defence, Oil & Gas etc.
- Previous experience of commissioning major manufacturing or infrastructure assets
- Familiarity with safe systems of work, permits to work, adherence to risk assessments/method statements and good health and safety practice.
- A Mechanical/Electrical qualification, time served in a relevant discipline such as maintenance or degree/foundation degree or equivalent in Engineering or Science.
- Those with experience in Royal Navy Shipboard Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Royal Fleet Auxiliary Shipboard Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or Merchant Navy Shipboard Mechanical/Electrical Engineering are welcome to apply..

To work for the Rolls-Royce Submarines Business an individual has to hold Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if the individual does not currently already have this in place.
Due to the nature of work the Business conducts and the protection of certain assets a person has to be a UK national or in MoD approved cases a Dual National from a non ITAR country.
