An Ideal Employment Advisor will:
1. Have previous welfare to work experience working on DWP/ESF
2. Funded contracts or having a demonstrable set of transferable skills to work in a target-driven environment with a focus on Quality and Compliance.
Job Purpose for an Employment Advisor role
1. To deliver quality welfare to work services to programme participants.
2. To ensure compliance with all DWP and ESF contractual requirements throughout the company.
3. To work with wider teams to support participant progression.
4. To provide outstanding in work support services to optimise job retention and sustained outcomes.
5. Demonstrate a willingness to learn and motivate others to develop/grow industry-specific knowledge and skills.
6. Provide a sense of authority to the customers and enable them to feel more confident & strengthened.
Key Responsibilities of an Employment Advisor:
1. Assess the needs and barriers of participants through SMART action plans and needs assessment.
2. Source participants from contract award areas via outreach locations.
3. Support participants in training and employment.
4. Work within Jobcentres and local authorities and a range of community associations.
5. Track and record customer outcomes and activities on the CRM system.
6. Assist customers to become job ready by coaching and providing employer-led advice and guidance.
7. Work to targets and deadlines as set out by contract profiles.
8. Work alongside the Recruitment Managers to support work-ready participants in employment.
9. Provide ongoing support to participants post recruitment (in work support).
10. Signpost participants to various organisations to assist with Health, drug and alcohol, housing, and finance advice.
11. Deliver a high-quality service in line with Get Set UK’s delivery model.
12. Ensure compliance and accuracy with all aspects of service delivery.
13. Create awareness amongst the employers about our company's vision of equal opportunities and values.
14. Provide customers with quality constructive feedback that allows them to improve and prepare for the dynamic work environment.
15. Provide support to the stakeholders to enable them to sustain employment through good practice and overcome any foreseen barriers.
Key Skills Required for an Employment Advisor role:
1. Must have strong communication, conflict management, and negotiation skills
2. Must be resourceful and innovative with a positive outlook
3. Must be target driven and confident to work in a target-driven environment
4. Must be a team player and supportive of colleagues
5. Must be empathetic to vulnerable and at-risk adults and have a strong desire to help
6. Must be willing to travel for work in and around Greater London
7. Be able to demonstrate previous experience in a target-driven environment.
8. Have experience dealing with challenging priority groups.
9. Have an employment-focused approach to their work.
10. Have worked on voluntary and outreach contracts and can quantify this.
11. Have worked on ESF and payment by results contracts.
12. Can create SMART action plans and conduct individual needs assessments
13. Have experience working with the Local Authority and Jobcentre Plus
14. Can demonstrate a high level of accuracy and contractual compliance in their previous roles.
15. Computer, data entry, and MS Office skills
