We have a fantastic opportunity to join our team as an Employee Relations Caseworker on a permanent, full time (37 hours per) basis.
As an Employee Relations Caseworker you will be responsible for providing HR operational support, advice, and guidance to line managers within designated business areas and working closely with the HR Business Partners to develop and implement HR initiatives covering case management, talent management, succession planning and HR policies and processes. To provide a comprehensive day to day service which meets the needs of the business in an effective and professional manner.
What the Employee Relations Caseworker role entails.
- To provide support, advice and guidance to the designated business line managers via telephone on all HR matters including ER, Policy, disciplinary, sickness absence, performance and attendance issues etc. to ensure an efficient and professional service is delivered within set SLA’s
- Deal with escalated queries from the HR Administrators and provide swift resolution within specified timescales
- Update and maintain the case management system and provide regular reports at team meetings to ensure that actions are undertaken and that cases are resolved within reasonable time scales
- Work closely with the HR Business Partners to develop and implement HR initiatives, policies and processes ensuring a progressive, proactive and professional HR service is delivered
- Be the first point of contact for managers and staff for all HR issues
- Have a good understanding of best practice and legislative requirements of various HR activities and particularly employee relations matters (e.g., managing absence, discipline, change management, TUPE, managing redundancy, redeployment consultation etc.)
- Ability and desire to manage HR processes from end to end
- Transactional HR delivery, delivery of strategic HR objectives, proactively supporting change programs within the business
- To keep abreast of Employment Law developments
- To identify opportunities and approaches to improving people management activity
- Change management experience including advising the business regarding change, TUPE,
redundancy, managing costs, right processes & procedures etc. - Understanding of job design, redeployment, retraining (advice and implementation)
- Provide effective project planning to ensure project delivery on time and to required standard.
The skills and experience required to be successful in the role of Employee Relations Caseworker include:
- Educated to degree level in HR related subject or equivalent CIPD qualification (level 5)
- Prince2 or Project Management preferable but not essential
