Securitas has a unique and extremely important opportunity for you to support the Fire Services across the UK. This is a contract/deployment opportunity that you can carry out alongside your usual full-time job.
Securitas provides contingency fire crews in the event of, a catastrophic incident, pandemic, industrial action or other event that could reduce normal fire service capability.
All training is conducted at the Fire Service College in Moreton-in-Marsh with meals and accommodation provided. Initial training will be 12 consecutive days followed by annual seven-day refresher training.
All training will be paid at a competitive training rate and during any deployment you will be paid at a higher rate. (This can be discussed further at interview)
Before applying for this role please ensure your current employer has the availability to allow you to attend the 12-day training and annual refresher training.
You will have permission from your current employer to be released to attend deployment with a minimum six days’ notice.

Securitas has the following interesting and unique roles available for Emergency Fire Crew (EFC):
Crew Supervisor Individuals will lead fire and rescue crews who staff fire appliances and attend emergency incidents in a supervisory role.
Fire and Rescue Crew Individuals will staff fire appliances and attend emergency incidents.
Driver/Pump Operator Individuals will drive fire appliances/operate pumps and will be given suitable Blue Light Training. Applicants for this role will need to hold a current LGV licence and have undertaken over 200 hours LGV driving.
As Emergency Fire Crew you will:
- Ensure competencies through continued professional development on an annual basis to remain deployable
- Where applicable, wear breathing apparatus
- Wear and maintain personal protective equipment, taking note of any corrective actions in line with company
- Deal sensitively with people in difficult, trying and ambiguous situations
- Travel and be away from home for prolonged periods
- Be prepared to move and deploy at short notice any time day or night
- Able to work in a team and as an individual using common sense, initiative and to carry out duties that would normally be conducted by regular firefighters.
- Promoting a professional image of Securitas.

- Clean-shaven due to being able to wear a face respirator when required
- Ability to retain & maintain a comprehensive & up-to-date knowledge of Security & Fire Safety systems & procedures
- Personnel must have the physical ability to carry out the firefighter’s role, including adequate stamina and strength. In particular:
MOVEMENT:
- Be able to run, jog, walk. Climb stairs and ladders, jump.
- Be able to crawl along a surface through confined and restricted spaces
- Be able to dig and hammer
STRENGTH:
- Be able to lift heavy objects and equipment
- Be able to push/pull weights, objects and equipment
ENVIRONMENT:
- Be able to work in with hot and cold temperatures. In dust, smoke and high humidity and be able to work in water
- Be able to work in overcrowded, open and enclosed spaces including cable entanglement
- Be able to work at height up to 13.5 metres
- Be able to work in partial or total darkness
- VISION - Be able to distinguish between colours
- HEARING - Be able to distinguish between different sounds
- SMELL - Be able to detect different smells
