EMEIA FSO Risk and Compliance - Senior Associate - Risk Management - Permanent (can be secondment)
EMEIA FSO (Financial Services Office) comprises 18 countries across Western Europe. The EMEIA FSO Regional Leadership Board (RLB) are supported by a team of risk management professionals providing consultation services and support to engagement teams on matters of policy, risk management, quality and compliance as well as related processes.
In addition to managing the strategic risks, Risk Management also focus on external regulatory and political risk, market risk, and the risk facing a large financial services-driven operation. Risk Management oversees EMEIA FSO-wide activities designed to help all of our people meet our global and local compliance responsibilities and support our client-facing teams in delivering quality and exceptional client service.
The Opportunity:
We are looking for a Senior Associate to work in the EMEIA FSO Risk Management team. The role will provide the opportunity to gain a wide range of experience in risk management and compliance and supporting the execution of risk governance and strategic projects across the EMEIA FSO region.
A Senior Associate is required to focus on the internal risk management agenda of the EMEIA FSO region in collaboration with our ‘host countries’ who run the day to day compliance processes. The role involves working on our Infrastructure tools such as PACE and GIS. In line with NextWave’s client centricity agenda, there are opportunities to work with account teams and support them with risk management matters which provides great exposure to leadership. The role gives you direct access to and experience in working with Senior Partners in the EMEIA FSO leadership team.
Role location is flexible within EMEIA FSO region, but UK, Ireland or France is preferable
Your Key Responsibilities:
You will be a key part of the Risk Management team ensuring the firm’s compliance with internal and regulatory requirements. This includes delivering on compliance priorities and providing support in risk management and quality aspects of the firm’s internal processes, as well as assisting senior members of the team on risk management and reporting compliance activities across the region.
Responsibilities include:
- Contribute to the overall Risk Management team agenda with input into, Personal Compliance monitoring, Independence testing and monitoring, Policy violations, QRM ratings, Promotion process; EY Policy Compliance and Infrastructure e.g. PACE maintenance and reviews; using and updating GIS.
- Be a visible and key member of the team. Build relationships with global, and host Risk Management functions and leadership
- Liaise with Talent, Service Line Quality, and local Independence teams to agree the processes, timeline and execution plan for various projects
- Support senior members of the team with FSO compliance processes in relation to activities undertaken locally within host countries
- Ensure total confidentiality is kept throughout the role as will be dealing with sensitive information
Other tasks:
- Prepare reports and presentations for leadership meetings and other key stakeholders
- Deal with ad hoc risk, compliance, risk reporting and Independence related queries
Skills and attributes for success:
- Good communication skills capable of dealing with wide range of staff, including Partners and key stakeholders – role involves working directly with Senior Partners in the EMEIA FSO Leadership team
- Strong data analysis skills – experience using Excel (pivot tables, v-lookup etc), Power BI and similar
- Able to operate calmly under pressure and manage competing priorities with a can-do attitude
- Able to work collaboratively across the EMEIA region and with the wider business as a whole to build strong working relationships
- Capable of working using own initiative, with good analytical and organisational skills
- Able to manage holidays with supporting team member to ensure there is coverage during peak periods and key deadlines
- Problem solving skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Experience of using EY Risk Management tools e.g. PACE, GIS, BRIDGE, GRT, SORT etc would be an advantage
