Community Affairs work to support the division as they engage with various charity partners and organisations to deliver programmes that demonstrate the Firms value of Giving Back across EMEA. Based in the London office, their primary focus and responsibility will be to oversee the volunteering, skills-based and pro-bono programmes across the EMEA region.

What will you be doing?
Reporting to the Head of Community Affairs, this role will manage the development and implementation of a structured volunteer action plan. This position aims to build upon the existing volunteering engagement culture within Morgan Stanley across EMEA regions:

    Aligning to the overall Community Affairs strategic direction, take ownership of volunteering efforts and programming in London and point person across EMEA

    Be the contact point to the Community Champions and Committees across EMEA, giving regular support and consultation when needed, with the aim to help build employee engagement within their region.

    Utilising your past experience in the sector, support the business with general advice on corporate philanthropy and be the expert on volunteering.

    Be the lead for the EMEA region for the Firm’s flagship volunteering campaign - Global Volunteer Month. Work closely with global colleagues, coordinate a team of enthusiastic champions, drive regional measurement, budgets and execution to ensure the campaign is delivered successfully with key targets

    Work with charitable organisations to launch a structured volunteer programme. Increasing volunteer opportunity access to all levels of employees within the firm, across identified EMEA regions.

    Ownership and oversight of the Firm’s flagship pro-bono programme - Strategy Challenge, Skills Connectors and Pilotlighters. Work with our delivery and HR partners to successfully recruit charities and employees.

    Connect leaders of networks, divisions on relevant programmes to help enable cross interaction and engagement.

    Ensure EMEA volunteer activities, successes and Community Affairs key messages are communicated out to champions through developing a formalised communication plan.

    Support the team through overseeing the co-ordination and collation of any communication content required to promote Community Affairs programmes. Proactively working with the communication team to ensure the Giving Back value and impacts made is shared both internally and externally

    Ensure the EMEA Community Affairs intranet and volunteer management platform is up to date at all times

    Work with other members of Community Affairs team on specific projects and/or team related activities when necessary

QUALIFICATIONS

What we’re looking for:

    Previous experience in corporate responsibility, or at a charity in a corporate facing role.

    In-depth understanding from concept to implementation of establishing and developing both a volunteering culture and employee volunteer engagement opportunities.

    Sound understanding of, or ability to understand, the investment banking environment and therefore an ability to shape and drive successful programmes that align to a banking culture.

    Understanding of how to work with the charity sector, and empathetic to the challenges faced by organisations and the beneficiaries they support.

    Proven ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with external organisations and charities.

    Proven ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels, especially senior management.

    Proven ability to help develop and deliver a complex action plan. Meet tight deadlines in at times, a pressurised environment, whilst keeping a professional manner.

    Strong planning, administrative, data management and organizational skills; attention to detail a must.

    Flexibility and ability to deal with changing priorities, work independently, manage time efficiently and meet deadlines; proven ability to multi-task.

    Proactive, analytical, and customer service oriented with an ability to work across various corporate, charity and public audiences at all levels of seniority.

    Strong Excel, PowerPoint and Word skills (experience with engagement data software and reporting a plus).
