EMEA Loan and Agency – Third Party Trading Associate
The Third Party Agency team forms part of the Loans Agency function. The role is multi-faceted, client-facing and deadline driven. The team is responsible for certain activities of an operational nature in relation to syndicated credit facilities where JPMorgan has been appointed Facility Agent. The Agent has a duty to provide a high quality service to all parties through the administration of accurate funds movement and timely information flows. The Facility Agent’s roles and responsibilities are defined in the loan agreement which is broadly based on LMA-style documentation.
Job responsibilities:
- Monitor daily production of team and identify opportunities to streamline recurring processes.
- Work in a very dynamic environment, partnering with the trading desk, external clients, legal counsel and operations to review and record Secondary Loan Syndication trades in the firm’s books and records on deals where JP Morgan is facility agent.
- Review and interpret all operational aspects of loan documentation as it relates to transfers, providing consultative feedback to deal teams and legal counsel on operational feasibility of transfer mechanics.
- Act as first point of escalation contact for internal and external trade counterparties including broker-dealers and buy-side institutional investors.
- Ensure accurate and timely capture of primary and secondary trades in Loan IQ.
- Assist the team in ad-hoc requests including technology enhancements / UAT exercises.
- Support the team’s shared objectives and Control agenda by contributing to multiple work streams.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Manage and prioritize multiple demands in a fast-changing environment, using sound judgement to escalate issues timely.
- Strong communication skills both oral and written with confidence speaking to internal and external clients.
- Strong team player.
- Attention to detail; understanding of the risks and downstream impacts of inaccurate data capture.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to identify the root cause.
- Personal motivation and drive to deliver excellence and make a difference every day.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Financial services experience with working knowledge of syndicated loans preferred.
- Knowledge of Loan IQ, ClearPar and data rooms (e.g. Syndtrak, Intralinks) is preferred.
- Knowledge of loan transfer documentation, agency functions and loan settlements preferred but not essential.
