Location: The Associate will be based at one of Causeway’s three main locations: Gerrards Cross (Near London), Leamington Spa or Middlesbrough with some degree of remote working.

Do you have a strong interest and background in data analysis with previous experience of Life Cycle Assessment or carbon footprinting?

The University of Bath is looking for a talented individual to lead a ground-breaking research project to create a software product that will enable embodied carbon to be measured in real time as a building or structure is constructed. This is critical because embodied carbon represents 10% of global energy-related CO2 emissions and must be reduced if we are to achieve net-zero carbon construction.

This is an opportunity for you to ‘fast track’ your career into business by leading a high profile and strategically meaningful project to a successful conclusion, allowing you to utilise your academic achievements in an industrial setting.

This is a unique opportunity to work alongside academics from one of the UK’s leading research-intensive universities while building a professional career.

This Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) project will bring together a team with an exciting combination of expertise in life cycle assessment, uncertainty analysis, data visualisation and integrating sustainability into decision making.

As a KTP Associate you will receive extensive practical and formal training, gain marketable skills, broaden knowledge and expertise within an industrially relevant project, and be supported by both industrial and academic mentors.

You will have the opportunity to work on inspirational problems, using ground-breaking technology with incredible team support from the Departments of Architecture and Civil Engineering and Mechanical Engineering.

Causeway Technologies Ltd is a leader in construction software solutions which are built upon years of deep knowledge and hard-won experience in the industry. They provide solutions that span the complete life cycle of the built environment. https://www.causeway.com/

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A first degree in a STEM subject such as Engineering or Science.
  • Proven experience and strong background of data analysis.
  • Previous experience of Life Cycle Assessment or carbon footprinting.
  • Excellent communication skills to engage with multiple stakeholders and ability to relate to other specialties.

If you're a talented and motivated individual looking for a new challenge and to take control of your own project, then make sure you take advantage of this rare opportunity. You will play a major role and engage with multiple stakeholders, so must have excellent communication and organisational skills.

KTP Associate – The benefits

  • Valuable experience and highly transferable skills.
  • Responsibility for a high-profile project.
  • Mentoring from the company and academic team.

It is crucial that you understand how KTP works https://www.ktp-uk.org/
