Electronics Engineer - Aerospace- Buckinghamshire, UK.

Role:

Our Client based in Buckinghamshire UK, is looking to appoint an Electronics Engineer. The position is responsible for generating a broad range of electronic design concepts in line with customer requirements and in line with the engineering specification, including associated international standards, military standards and requirements. It also requires the production of commercially viable detailed electronic layouts.
Effective workload planning, generation of technical calculations and corresponding reports, design reviews, verification activities and presentations is also required to support the development of the design. It will also be necessary to work effectively with internal and external customers to achieve the optimum design through in-depth consultation with all project stakeholders.

Due to the nature of the company's products, candidates must be able to undergo and gain security clearance.

Key Accountabilities:

Participate in design coordination activities with other disciplines and design personnel as required.

Producing specifications derived from internal requirements and related documents, to provide a high level of decomposition and traceability.

Conduct trade studies into potential engineering solutions, using hand calculations and modelling techniques.

Carry out performance calculations, using hand calculations, spreadsheets and specific software packages as required.

Produce top level system schematics from which detailed parts may be developed.

Produce a variety of detailed design and verification reports as requested

Produce and present material for major milestone reviews.

Oversee proof of concept and trial manufacture of components as required.

Develop detailed designs from top level layouts.

Determine the best, most commercially sound solution within the given parameters whilst optimising manufacturability

Conduct interchangeability and obsolescence analysis as required

Check engineering drawings produced by team members for functionality and correctness and ensuring drawing complies with client's Drawing Best Practice.

Mentor and audit output of more junior team members.

Produce and maintain engineering electronic drawings in accordance with client's procedures.

Develop and maintain cost models for product.


Qualifications:

1st / 2:1 Electronic Engineering Degree.


Specific and Technical Skills:

Knowledge and experience in electronic design software.

MS Office (suite of applications).

Good problem solving/investigative skills and data analysis skills.

Highly IT literate.

  • Knowledge and application of Aerospace / Defence or similar design.
  • Thorough expertise in US/UK electronic standards.
  • Good understanding of modern manufacturing methods.
  • Creation and delivery of presentation work.
  • Track record of innovative designs
