Meech International has an exciting opportunity available for an Electronics Design Engineer to join our growing team based in Witney, Oxfordshire. Electronics Design Engineer: The role
Reporting to the Head of Engineering, your primary role will be to design and develop electronics for new and/or redesigned components and products across the Meech range. Responsibilities include:
- Ongoing development work on electronics for various R&D projects involving the design for manufacture of various new parts, redesigning existing components, producing prototype parts for testing, testing new and redesigned components, contributing to decisions based on test results and modifying drawings accordingly;
- Liaising with mechanical design engineers to ensure correct mechanical size and fit.
- Ongoing liaison with suppliers and manufacturers regarding components ordered, providing feedback, letting them know if there are problems or what works well, organising any necessary returns, chasing orders and visiting suppliers when required;
- Root cause analysis of hardware failures and determination of design changes to improve product reliability and service life.
- Liaison with production staff to address build problems.
- Keeping other personnel informed of progress on R&D projects.
- Taking technical sales calls when necessary.
Skills, knowledge and experience required by our Electronics Design Engineer:
- Analog circuit design – familiarity with op amp and A-D / D-A conversion, control loop design for stability.
- PCB Design & Circuit simulation.
- Power electronics – design of DC-DC converter circuits in particular, and also switchmode transformer design familiarity would be good.
- Knowledge of EMC and Thermal design consideration
- Experience in High voltage circuits desirable
Based at Meech’s UK head office in Witney, Oxfordshire, the working hours are 8.30am - 4.30pm Monday to Friday.
