Why the Electronic Trading Graduate Associate programme?
Barclays has a leading Electronic Trading franchise, with a high calibre team of Quants and Quant Developers supporting the business.
This programme provides an opportunity to gain practical experience within the area, undertaking tasks of real-world value to the business and its clients.
You’ll take your first steps in the challenging and fascinating world of algorithmic trading & data science.
Working with a broad spectrum of colleagues, you’ll learn how data science fits into our business. What’s more, you’ll help our team to turn mathematical and algorithmic ideas into trading reality by:
- Learning to use statistical models and algorithmic coding in practice
- Testing practical machine learning techniques
- Researching and implementing new models
- Expanding our computational platform by helping solve complex software development problems
1-2 year targeted, fast-track programme focused on developing specialist technical expertise.

Who we're looking for
To be considered for this programme, you must have completed or be in the final year of a postgraduate qualification, Masters or higher, in a technical discipline such as Physics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Economics, Financial Mathematics, Financial Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science or other STEM subjects.
Additionally, applicants should have strong programming skills, in Java, C++ or Python.
